American supernatural drama series The Leftovers, aired on HBO, was based on Tom Perrotta's novel the the same name. He worked alongside Damon Lindelof to put the show together, the story themes itself around the "Sudden Departure", an event which caused 2% of the world's population to disappear without a trace.
