Here we offer a VERY SCARCE VG- original UK 7" 45 EMIDISC ONE-SIDED METAL ACETATE by the Locomotive featuring their CLASSIC "Rudy's In Love"! Like many metal acetates, probably only a handful of these were pressed up, and it obviously predates the regular Parlophone DEMO copy and stock copy...BUT WAIT... THIS APPEARS TO BE THE ORIGINAL ALTERNATE/UNRELEASED/DEMO? VERSION OF THE SONG...the most pronounced difference is that it's slower, more "stripped down" in a sense, though "less produced" might be more precise, with what sounds like a slightly different instrumental fade ending (not repeating Rudy, Rudy's In Love at very end as in the released version etc.) AMAZING!  Seems to be about 2 to 3 seconds shorter than the released version as well! We believe this may be from 1967, as the commerically released Parlophone 45 was issued in 1968, but we're not sure! Please note we compared this acetate version with the released UK Parlophone 45 version to the best of our ability, not being very familiar with the song since we are American, and this song isn;t well known here in the States, so the above evaluation is done honestly "to our ear". It is NOT a completely re-worked version or anything like that, and the differences are more on the subtle side! We have also posted another photo, of the cover! It did originate from Tony Hall, who managed the band...see cover! It does have a variety of light surface marks, light rubs and wear, no major issues, but plays a solid VG, if not a bit better...we were impressed by the fine sound, with VERY MINIMAL, super light occasional (near end) background noise (just a few brief brief, quiet ticks...couldn't really call them pops...doesn't detract from the nice overall sound)!  The other side has scuffs and marks...but there's no music on that anyway! It comes in a plain white card sleeve, with handwritten "The Locomotive" "1. Rudy's In Love" and in the upper right corner, "from Tony Hall" (which you can see in the photo!) We believe (our guess) this is the original version the band cut (check the label stamp) before producer Gus Dudgeon got hold of it!  Please...if you have questions, please ask, or kindly write if you know anything...but this is a TREASURE if you collect UK 60s singles! Reasonable opening bid for an ALTERNATE/UNRELEASED METAL ACETATE version of a popular song, with NO RESERVE! Nearly impossible to find in the U.S.A., but also quite scarce in the UK in such fine condition! We are strict visual graders, and we use 2.5 reading glasses to inspect...to us NOTHING is truly mint!
