About a year ago this group began to sing together because each of them had experienced the heartfilling Christ gives. These are dedicated and active Christians who have a longing to lead others to experience the Christ who lives in their hearts. It is a real blessing to observe how God is using.them to bring His message in song to people everywhere they go. They exemplify the spirit of love, joy, and peace. This is a unique group in that they are demonstrating in a marvelous way how to serve Christ with their talents in churches and gatherings in various parts of the country and yet they remain loyal in attendance and service to Christ through the churches where they have membership. Ward Gaines leads for the group and is a native of London, Kentucky. He is a salesman for Laurel Grocery Co., East Bernstadt, Kentucky. Ward’s warmth of heart and spirit is very contagious. Ward is a member of the First Assembly of God in London and is married to the former Louise Schott. Thresa Sasser Brown sings Alto and is also a native of London, Kentucky. She is married to Oscar Brown of London and they have a married son and daughter and two small grandchildren. The spirit of Christ is radiated through her lovely voice and personality. Thresa is a machine operator at Warners in London. Thresa is a member of the Christian Church in Pittsburg, Kentucky. Vanda Webb Schott is the very capable pianist and not only contributes her musical talent but a happy Christian spirit as well. Vanda is a secretary for Patton-Chestnut-Binder, Inc., Insurance Agency, London. She is married to Randy Schott. Vanda is a member of the Bond Baptist Church in Jackson County. Darrel Beck is first tenor and is a native of Clark County, Indiana. Darrel is a salesman for Buhler Mills, Inc., Memphis, Tennessee and has lived in London for about two years. As Darrel travels over the state he is a constant witness to the message he sings. He adds warmth and devotion to the group. He is married to the former Roberta Florence and has two lovely daughters. The Becks are members of the Corinth Baptist Church. Charles Edd Smith is the bass for the London Christianairs. He is Parts and Service Coordinator of Bob Mullins Ford Co. here in London. His wife is the former Edna Morris. He is the chairman of the deacons of his church and sings in the choir. Edd loves the Lord and proves it with his life. Edd and Edna are members of the Corinth Baptist Church. I consider it an honor and a privilege to share these facts about the London Christianairs. Their hard work and devotion to a ministry in music and song has been and will continue to be rewarded by decisions of the people who hear them to live out the message they sing. Their richest reward for their efforts is to know that their singing has helped open another heart to Christ who fills whatever longing exists.
