Description
An original 1969 copy of 'Magnificent Moodies' on the unboxed Decca label. Matrix 2A/1A. Stampers 1-BB/1-M.The labels are consistent with a 1969 copy. The tape number is still upside down and they do NOT exhibit the deep-groove which was discontinued a year earlier. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono Robert Stace cover. Also included is the original red mono Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% original and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow!..The vinyl looks like a mirror and has clearly seen super-light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Basically, you are never ever going to be able to match this copy unless you've got yourself an actual time-machine in your garage! The labels are practically mint and show almost no sign of use and the vinyl surface confirms this too. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Difficult to find fault here..at all. The audio is breathtakingly clear - we are talking about unrivalled levels of transparency...as good as it gets. Interference is totally absent. We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles the whole way through. Even quiet sections exhibit no sign of background at all. FINAL UPGRADE..easy!
Cover (Ex) In great shape and someone has clearly looked after this cover. The front cover is borderline perfect. There's no ageing and barely a crease. Just the tiniest laminate-lift against the spine edge - that's all really. The rear, often the problem area, is very well preserved. Just some light grubbiness at the extremities, but it doesn't seem to have been affected by the usual ageing process. Edge wear is light and the text on the spine is still legible. Overall the cover retains surprisingly good rigidity. A lovely specimen!
