Description

Hello there, come on in and welcome to the auction!

As you can see from my 100% feedback, I sell with complete honesty and reliability.  Above all things I am a record collector and music lover.  I only sell records that I would want to receive. I know well the disappointment of receiving an over-graded record that turns up two weeks late.  That is not the service you will receive here, so bid with total confidence.

I don’t sell a lot of records because I spend a lot of time carefully finding, grading and listing them and do not like to rush this process, as many sellers must do to be able to sell 100 records a week!

I am mostly a collector of old time music, pre-war blues and folk, so buy job-lots that often contain rare records that aren’t to my taste so to ebay they go!

(On that note, if you have any early American blues or folk to swap or sell, please get in touch!)

Anyway, enough of the chit chat and on to the record at hand...

Here we have a 1st UK press of the Marmalade legendary record Reflections of…

Released on the Decca label in 1970, this is the very 1st UK press with the front laminated Robert Stace outer sleeve which has the indicator hole on the rear showing a blue stereo record within!

The 1st presses of Relections… have the 1W matrix endings as we have here, but this also has the lowest mothers and stampers available!

To find a fully complete 1st pressing of this very rare record is one thing, but what makes this super special is the fact that it is unplayed!

It’s a true Mint Gem!

Sleeve Condition.

The 1st UK print outer sleeve is in stunning condition!  There are no rips, tears or pen marks to mention!  The spine is perfectly straight and all text is perfectly readable with no wear. The edges are nice and sharp with only very mild storage wear. There is some slight discolouration to the rear and a small sticker removal to front and that is all! All the colours are still vibrant and the sleeve lies perfectly flat as it should! A stunner of a sleeve and close to pristine!

Excellent

Inner Condition.

The 1st press blue Decca inner is in near perfect condition, with no writing, tears or splits! It is correctly dated as 4-70! (April 1970) Perfect!

Label Condition.

The first press Blue Decca Stereo labels are in fantastic condition.  There are no rips, rubbing, writing or stains to mention.  There is no centre hole damage at all.  Even under a strong light, only one near invisible spindle can be seen! Simply unheard of!

Nr MINT

Vinyl Visual Condition.

The vinyls look unplayed! Simple as that!  Not one sign of use of any of the vinyl records! Bright, shiny and perfect! Under a halogen, there is only the faintest wisp of a removals, it’s that good!

Nr MINT

Vinyl Audio Condition.

The record sounds superb from start to finish!  There are no jumps, skips or distortion at all!  The dynamics of all the different instruments are so well defined and easily separable by the ear.  I didn’t hear a crackle or pop throughout and no unwanted distortion or background noise at all! Just a perfect final upgrade vinyl!

Nr MINT

So there we have it… One of the rarest and earliest complete copies of a 1st UK Reflections of Marmalade that you will ever see! It’s a mint record that defies its 40 year age!

A MINTY GEM!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Happy Bidding!

All my records will be sent first class, signed for and insured to their value!

I will package the records with extreme care, with hard stiffeners and the vinyl separate to the sleeve and inner, all housed in a Defenda locktab record box envelope.

I try to be as honest as I can in my descriptions, taking as many pictures as possible, but if you don’t feel happy with your purchase, I offer no quibble full refunds as soon as the record is sent back.  I will not give partial refunds however, only full.  I think this is fair, Thanks!
