 ALBUM NOTES

The Mars Volta are Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler Zavala, and this is the highly anticipated follow-up to the Mars Volta's stunning debut, DE-LOUSED IN THE COMATORIUM. This album finds Cedric and Omar (both formerly of At the Drive-In) diving further into their bizarre, unique sonic aesthetics. Here various forms of Latin music merge with ambient passages, jazzy interludes, and fierce progressive rock. The Latin influence, in fact, is more evident than ever, with Bixler Zavala often alternating between Spanish and English lyrics, and full-on salsa sections providing a melodic respite from the energetic chaos (particularly on "L'Via L'Viaquez," which features pianist Larry Harlow).

Despite the complexity of FRANCES THE MUTE's suite-like song structures, the tracks form a fascinating whole, never losing focus of the group's key elements which are Cedrics stunningly expressive vocals and Omars amazingly proficient guitar heroics. A challenging and fascinating album which only reinforces the Mars Volta's reputation as a bold, iconoclastic band.

SLEEVE/RECORD GRADING
I take great pride in accurately grading records, my feedback is testament to this accuracy, furthermore to give potential buyers a more detailed description of records, I grade both sides of sleeve and both sides of record. This gives a more accurate assessment of the overall condition of item. Sleeve is always graded first, any inserts are graded seperately. 45rpm singles are graded as a & b sides, sleeves are not graded but are deemed to be in a reasonable condition as seen from photograph. All photos are of the actual item you are purchasing.
POSTAGE & PACKAGING  All records will be sent 1st Class Royal Mail unless otherwise requested. LP's sent in purpose made cardboard mailers with two sheets of corrugated cardboard to protect item. To protect sleeve all LP's are removed form sleeve and packaged alongside item, this prevents LP damaging sleeve in transit.
