Description
The Merry Go Round featuring Emitt Rhodes You're a Very Lovely Woman Live
CONDITION: Remarkable copy, conservatively graded and based on listening to the record in its entirety while preparing this listing, using my Hitachi HT45 turntable with an Audio Technica DC30 cartridge tracking at about 1.5 grams. The general purpose of this audition was to confirm its BREATHTAKINGLY CLEAN VINYL. IT SOUNDS AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS! I was unable to hear anything that could knock it down a notch from an Excellent grade. I honestly think the record may never have made it to a turntable, which is paradoxical since it was opened at some point. Immaculate labels, with nothing in the way of spindle marks. The record jacket is in excellent condition within the shrink notwithstanding the following. There are tiny corner dings, with the lower right hand corner showing a bit of abrasion that can be seen in the photos. There is effectively no ring wear, front or back. Let's take up the record jacket edges, beginning with the spine. The spine is clean, with all text visible (left to right in red lettering, "SP 4132," "TTHE MERRY - GO - ROUND," and "A&M RECORDS." The bottom edge is spotless notwithstanding the area around the ding to the aforementioned lower right hand corner. The "open" edge is also spotless. Lastly, the top edge is as clean as the bottom. NO SEAM SPLITS or areas where one might be developing. The back cover is immaculate- no issues except a little brown spot in the upper right hand corner. The original A&M Records inner sleeve is free of seem splits. Oddly enough, when the inner sleeve was originally placed into the jacket, the corner that received the small drill hole to indicate cut-out was bent back and missed the drill. Again see the corner of the inner sleeve with the Baja Marimba Band advert. All of the above is shared as MY responsibility in our deal, and in the interest of full disclosure. Bottom line on this copy: This is the one you've held out for.
Don't forget to avail yourself of ebay's "Mouse over image to zoom" feature when you review the pictures for this listing, a great asset in seeing for yourself the minor defects described above. Nota Bene: the shrink is intact but worn/abraded, which gives a bad effect in the picture. The record jacket beneath is perfect.
For the aficionado, following are the matrix numbers:
Side 1: A+M 4163-7 2; Side 2: A+M 4164-8 1, with the T indicating Columbia Terra Haute Pressing.
Free secure shipping via USPS media mail, with all the attendant care that means this insanely collectible rare vinyl album will arrive intact and in same-as-described condition. I use a professional, shipping apparatus specific to LPs, with the inner sleeve and record OUTSIDE the cardboard outer record jacket to prevent the introduction of seam splits. Sorry, this auction is open to bidders in the US only. FANTASTIC ITEM! When will you see another like it? Low opening bid!
