Live recording of a very early gig by The Mission at the Camden Electric Ballroom, 27th February 1986
The was one of The Missions very first few gigs. So early that they weren't yet known as The Mission. They were called The Sisterhood until Andrew Eldritch scuppered that by releasing a record also under that name. Wayne Hussey makes reference to this during this particular gig, stating that thanks to Andrew they can no longer call themselves The Sisterhood. As can be seen in the photos, the record label still refers to them as The Sisterhood although the cover gives their subsequently adopted name, which had not been decided on at the time of the gig.
This is in good condition for a 28 year old record. The cover has some scuff marks, a crease on the bottom right hand corner and a sticker has removed some of the cover in the top right hand corner. The vinyl itself plays nicely and there are no scratches other than a few scuff marks, none of which affect the sound quality. Please note however that this recording was obviously sourced from a tape recording from an audience member and so this is not a pristine sound desk recording.
All in all a nice piece of history from a band I certainly enjoyed throughout the late 80s and into the early 90s.
