DESCRIPTION:- Alan Hawkshaw, surely the best hammond organ grinder the UK has ever produced, with his finest outing, "The Champ" under his Mohawks guise. Unbelievable screaming hammond funk!!! A Holy Grail British funk ska LP, proabably my most favourite album of all time. This contains standout tracks from the KPM library album "The Big Beat Volume 1".


This is a 100% original 60's British Pressing (Pama, PMLP 5), and is in mighty fine condition too. The cover looks stunning and retains all its glorious colours. This is from my personal collection and is probably one of the cleanest sounding copies in existance!!!! I've had the UK press 3 or 4 times before in superb condition, but this was the very nicest of them all, but it's now time to say goodbye :-(


Please check the sound clip just to hear how lovely this copy sounds. I've even included a clip of the gaps between tracks so you can hear how clean it plays. Of course, there is the odd pop here and there, but what lp hasn't???



You will need to turn the volume on the player up as it defaults to quite on start-up.


So, please don't think your're just buying an "average" copy, this is something special and is genuinely one of the nicest copies I have EVER seen or heard. It was always a decent, heavyweight pressing, and the album feels solid when you hold it. Bear in mind that a VG copy of this sold for £274 last month, this copy is truly a collectors keeper (and it has been in my collection for 10 years, but I have things which unfortunately take precedence right now). It's not stone cold Mint, it is a used record, but it has obviously been well looked after by all owners and it is a very, very nice example of this highly sought after Grail.


I am a geniune seller of fine funk records and you will see from my feedback that I am very honest.


(Please don't get caught out, this is the real deal, I have seen reissues being sold as originals for high prices on ebay in the recent past. I've even reported it to ebay that they were being sold as originals when they were not, but they were clearly reissues.)


This is personally my favourite album of all time. You rarely get a collection of such high quality hammond funk tracks appear on one album, but every one is a winner here. Contains one of the greatest B-Boy breaks of all time, the title track "The Champ". Sampled by so many producers and championed by so many DJ's.


I doubt if I need to give you a tracklist, 'cos if you're looking, you must have an idea of what this album is all about, but email me if you need it, or just go and look up on the internet ('cos that's what it's for!).


CONDITION OF COVER:- EX- (some light creasing to the cover. Check the photos!)
