Description
Released in 1983, The Moody Blues' 'The Present' ( TRL-1-2902 ) was sandwiched between 'Long Distance Voyager' and 'The Other Side of Life' and somehow got "lost in the shuffle". Despite the lukewarm reviews it received, 'The Present' contains some strong material...."It's Cold Outside of Your Heart", "Running Water", "Going Nowhere", among others. Well produced and recorded, the album holds the distinction of being the last Moodies album to be released in a gatefold sleeve.
The copy I am offering is a rare variant of a 1st U.S. pressing on vinyl. When held up to a strong light source (sunlight preferably), the vinyl appears a lovely shade of bluish-purple. Only a few hundred copies were made with this vinyl formulation and most were sent to radio stations. Believe me, you won't see too many of these on eBay; especially in this condition.
Condition of Gatefold Jacket: Excellent.....Very nice cover...only a small bump to an area at upper back....otherwise very minor wear all around. Custom inner-sleeve has 2 seam splits but is still very presentable.
Condition of Record: Near Mint .....lovely gloss to both sides....only the faintest hairlines are noticeable under strong light. I've heard the album from beginning to end and can assure you the audio is fantastic.....detailed, balanced, warm, and clear.
