Description
Experience the groundbreaking album Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention. This double LP, released in 1966 under Verve records, features a colorful and avant-garde gatefold sleeve. It includes a hot spot ad and the original cover, making it a must-have for any rock or electronic music enthusiast.
NOTE: All records I list are from my personal archive.
They have been shelved upright in a clean, cool dry, smoke-free environment. Attempts to capture a clear photo of the record condition has proved fruitless.
Because of this I'm grading on the low end to insure the buyer the best accurate description for the most enjoyable listening experience. Sound quality is excellent and playback is flawless unless otherwise stated in description.
The Gatefold cover is in VG to VG+ condition with definite ring/shelf wear, with 5" seam splits on upper right front & back corners, a 2" seam split front bottom right corner, a 8" seam split on back right, the word "Mine" written in blue ink on inside Gatefold upper right-hand corner. Records are in VG to VG+ condition with multiple superficial surface scuffs and hairline marks on all sides. There is some very light background surface noise on all records that doesn't detract from the listening experience. There are a few little pops on Side 2 Track 2. Labels are in VG+ condition, a little faded with some very light spindle marks. Die-cut Paper inner sleeves are in VG+ condition.

1st issue, with "Freak Out - Hot Spots" map/poster offer printed on the right-hand inside of the gatefold jacket.
The map was not produced until at least Dec 1966, thus not available until that date (and would have been retrospectively added by the album's owner.) FZ's signature can be seen on the montage, bottom right, as "FVZ 12/66".
"Tableaus" appears as part of the song title on the label for the track on Side D, "Tableaux" appears as part of the song title for the track on the inside of the gatefold.
This is the west coast pressing from H.V. Waddell in Burbank, CA. Identifier is the "deep groove" pressing ring.
Runout details are etched.
