Description
The great Impulse! label, made famous by John Coltrane, decided in 1966 to feature some of the true leaders and genius' of the avant-guard movement. And here it is, with a selection of gems from the likes of Coltrane, Albert Ayler, Archie Shepp, and others who were the significant voices of New Music at the time, recorded at a benefit concert at the Village Gate in March 1965. Insightful liner notes written by Leroi Jones.
