Early noughties indie classic from German group The Notwist. This was the record that broke The Notwist into the US market. Their glitchy, melodious brand of “indietronica” was presented in a patchwork of sonic textures and fuzzy mixtures. Often The Notwist’s biggest triumph was their ability to take sounds from all corners of the spectrum and fuse them without any teething problems. Even a decade into their career, cuts like Pick Up The Phone and Consequence showcased this ability flawlessly. While it might be their 5th studio LP, Neon Golden is The Notwist’s most considered and exciting effort.
