Description
For sale is The Outlaws self titled first album, originally released in 1975 by Arista Records in a gate-fold presentation. It is a promotional copy with white labels, a punched hole in the corner and a sticker on the back cover. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any insert(s) or original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is a etching of what appears to be an oval record with two lines radiating from the center hole forming the letter "A". This indicates that the record was mastered at Artisan Sound Recorders of Hollywood, California, known for their state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. The inner sleeve is Excellent with some wrinkles. The cover is graded as VG+ because of some corner blunts, corner creases around the punched out hole and the promo sticker. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of sleeve marks and surface scratches. I'm play-grading it between Excellent and VG+ because of four rotational ticks during "Keep Prayin" and occasional low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quietest sections of playback. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. This is the best copy of this release that I have ever seen or heard, and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition again. It has become very rare and is impossible to find, especially as promotional album mastered at Artisan Sound Recorders. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
