Re-Listed With Reduced Start-Price
Super-clean and ridiculously rare copy of this Reprise acoustic/folk album from the highly acclaimed UK folk rock outfit, The Pentangle. Featuring the mellifluous Jacqui McShee and the poetic voice of Burt Jansch, whose vocals sound like they were squeezed directly from the ancient woodlands of Britain, this album was released in 1972 and distributed worldwide on Reprise. To my knowledge, the only re-presses have come some 30 years later with the advent of CD. Early copies also came with a nice marbled paper inner lyric sheet.
If you want to hear this how it was meant to be heard - on vinyl - the only way is to get an original 1972 copy, and in good condition, especially with the lyric sheet intact, they are as rare as hen's teeth.

Vinyl: Ex - An extraordinarily clean copy for an album that's in its fifth decade! Obviously been handled and played with some light superficial hairline surface marks, but still retaining a nice deep lustre and sheen. I've play-tested it in full, and although I'm more at home with the collaborations of Matlock, Cook, Jones & Rotten - this is an astonishingly beautiful album. Stand-out tracks are the top and tail of side 2. The reproduction sounds fantastic, a few odd crackles here and there on the dead-wax between tracks and on some of the quieter bits of audio, but those minor imperfections just add to the warmth that you only get with vinyl. It comes on the standard tan-coloured reprise label with the steamboat logo and the lower-case letter "r" in the black-framed orange-filled box with the two dots. The labels are nice and clean with no scuffs, stains or blemishes and there are some signs of spindle-wear.
Sleeve: VG+ A great condition sleeve for a 1972 example. It's the matt-finished rough-textured grey card sleeve with the woodland design circlet around a blue pentagon/pentangle, in-filled with folklore-ish illustrations. The rear cover has a similar circlet around the track-listing details and album credits. Sleeve is print-finished by MacNeill Press Ltd. It's entirely intact with no splits or tears. There's a little light edge and corner-wear, and some light ring-wear evident. This copy comes with the incredibly scarce inner lyric sheet, printed on nice marbled paper, in superb condition. The spine remains nice and solid with spine-text clear and perfectly legible. All seams securely stuck down.
It really is a super example of a genuine rarity and collector's item - recognised as such by Record Collector's RRPG.
