"Johnny Reggae" (Johnathan King)

I don't believe this record was played, but does show surface scuffing and edge sleeve wear. Interesting, can hear on several youtube presentations, like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhyyxBVe4To

Gem of a song, originally made it to number 3 in November 1971 on the UK charts and sold 5 million copies.

It was written and composed by Johnathan King who also named and produced Genesis.

________________________________

I am sorting, viewing, and listing a box of 45s that have been in storage since 1977. These are all promo / DJ copies that I received from a DJ buddy of mine in high school when the station he worked at went to country format.

All of these records are guaranteed original pressings.

My gradings are strictly visual. Because the quality of pressings varied, I cannot guarantee that the pressings themselves will be noise-free. That’s the way 45s came.

Many 50's (e.g. Chess, Vee-Jay, etc.) & 60's pressings, especially the small independent labels, were pressed "on-the-cheap."

I will not play these records - the record you receive will be like new and unplayed.
If there are any imperfections, it will be from many years of storage, or more likely a "not-so-great" pressing.

MY GRADING SCALE

Grading below is for the disc only, most of which are in Near Mint condition. The sleeves will be included, as pictured with the 45, but most of these would grade about VG+ - some ring wear and corner folds, none really have splits – I’ll note if they do.

  • Mint - I don't use this grade.
  • NM Near Mint - a near perfect, probably unplayed record. Record will show no serious scuffs or scratches in the playing area. May have minor scuffs on edges from
decades of storage, or a small scuff, scratch or paper scuff on playing area. It's near mint, not mint
  • Excellent – Still don’t believe the record was played, but may have sleeve scuffing or two or a scratch or two in the playing area. more than I think a NM should have
  • VG+  Very Good Plus-  close to like new with only superficial signs of use that dont affect play.
  • VG Very Good - a used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
  • VG- Very Good Minus - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise.
  • G+ Good Plus. In the record world, 'Good' is not good! From here on down (Fair, Poor), we're talking about beat-up records.

Record grading is subjective. That's why I offer a money back guarantee - except no refunds on shipping charges. Bid with complete confidence.

I package and ship my vinyl records with the greatest care, to ensure that your rare and collectible vinyl records arrive in pristine condition.  I guarantee every item I sell to be as listed. If I make an error, I'll make every effort to make it right either by refunding all costs involved, or adjusting the selling price to everyone's satisfaction.
