Description

Originally released in 1987, This Is the Story is the debut album from Scottish twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, better known as The Proclaimers. Famed for their heartfelt harmonies, sharp wit, and unapologetic Scottish accent, the duo’s debut blends folk, pop, and acoustic rock with socially aware lyrics. It features the Gerry Rafferty‑produced full‑band version of Letter from America, which reached No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart, alongside fan favourites Throw the ‘R’ Away, Over and Done With, and The Joyful Kilmarnock Blues. This National Album Day 2024 limited edition is pressed on Blue Curaçao coloured vinyl and housed in a sleeve faithfully reproducing the original artwork, complete with printed inner sleeve featuring lyrics and credits. Still factory sealed and unplayed — a must‑have for Proclaimers fans and collectors of 1980s UK folk‑rock.
