Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up XL Recordings Label - XLT90 1997 UK First Pressing on Black Vinyl
This listing is for a sought after original UK pressing of the smash hit Smack My Bitch Up from Prodigy.  Very difficult to find original Prodigy records in nice condition, normally destroyed by DJ's.
The band defended the title and suggested it was only in the sense of doing something intensely.  Ironically the audio was sampled from a Kool Keith track and the lyric is "Smack my bitch up, like a pimp".  To take it further Kool Keith then featured on the album Fat of The Land to record for the band.  Whichever way you look at it, it is an awesome track and voted by Mixmag as the 3rd greatest dance track of all time, and I in no way condone violence against any person "bitch" or otherwise.
I am very tempted to keep it but I have the albums so would just collect dust.

All of my records are play tested on a Technics SL-1200 with a Grado GF3 stylus which is quite revealing so any sound defects may be more exaggerated than on other more mainstream players.  Or conversely if you are a full on audiophile I will let you judge how your set up compares and how you envisage the sound will compare.
I don't currently have access to a cleaning machine so please forgive any dust or finger marks which are on any of my records - hopefully will be investing in one at some point.
Record Appearance - VG+ A strong VG+ with a nice glossy finish and just some light whisper lines and the odd light scratch.  Nothing too deep or intrusive, just a result of not having a separate inner sleeve.  Quite a bit of dust and some finger marks but should easily clean up.  Labels are in perfect condition with not even any spindle marks suggesting only minimal use.
Record Audio - VG+ Only minimal surface noise on run in but once the bass kicks in the sound is jaw dropping, every bit as good as the LP.  Amazing bass and crystal clear mids and highs, a treat for your speakers and neighbours.
Record Sleeve - VG+ Very close to NM, barely any shelf wear and just the odd scuff to the corners.  The spines and edges are perfect and being thick card there is no issue with ring wear.  Just a small indentation to the rear face when under a bright light, but overall a great collectable record.
