I 13th Floor Elevators hanno il merito di aver reso palesemente identificabile con questo termine un nuovo sottogenere del rock la "Psichedelica", non solo inserendolo nel titolo di un disco in anticipo sui tempi (anche se praticamente in contemporanea, nel novembre 1966, con i Blues Magoos di “Psychedelic Lollipop” e i Deep di “Psychedelic Moods”), ma, soprattutto, tracciandone esplicitamente le coordinate filosofico/musicali. L'Album uscito nella primavera del 1966, è uno dei piu avvincenti dell'epoca lisergica, l'archetipo di tutta la psichedelia. Dal mero punto di vista sonoro ciò che esce dalle casse è, di base, un R&B grezzo (vero e proprio punkante-litteram), influenzato dalla British Invasion (Kinks e Yardbirds in primis) e dalla destrutturazione della black music anticipata da gruppi come Kingsmen e Trashmen. Ovvero, ciò che a posteriori verrà catalogato alla voce garage rock. QUESTO DISCO E' IMMANCABILE IN UNA COLLEZIONE , E' FONDAMENTALE PER CAPIRE POI TUTTO IL RESTO CHE VERRA'.... E' L'INIZIO e ...LA FINE . QUESTO LP CHE VI PRESENTO E' UNA REALEASE PARTICOLARE NON HA LA STAMPA SUL RETRO DELLA PIRAMIDE , IN PRATICA E' UNA STAMPA VERAMENTE DIFFICILE DA REPERIRE OLTRETUTTO NELLE CONDIZIONI NELLA QUALE VE LA OFFRO , E' MOLTO MOLTO BELLA!.
The 13th Floor Elevators have the merit of having made clearly identifiable by this term a new subgenre of rock the "Psychedelic", not just by inserting it in the title of a record ahead of its time (although almost simultaneously, in November 1966, with the Blues Magoos of "Psychedelic Lollipop" and of Deep "Psychedelic Moods"), but, above all, tracing the coordinates explicitly philosophical / musical. The album came out in the spring of 1966, is one of the most exciting era LSD, the archetype of all the psychedelia. From a purely sonic point of view what comes out from the speakers is, basically, an R & B raw (real punkante-la lettre), influenced by the British Invasion (Kinks and Yardbirds in the first place) and the deconstruction of black music in advance by groups like the Kingsmen and Trashmen. That is, what in retrospect will be cataloged under the heading garage rock.
