Description

Here I have for sale, The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators Lp vinyl record. This is their iconic debut album from 1966. Psychedelic Rock starts here in its complete form! This is a 2nd mono pressing from 1967. I must say from the starts that this is a very rough copy. If you're looking for something clean, this isn't it. However, if you're just looking to own a rare and iconic record to play once in a blue moon, you might wanna take a look.


Cover:

I would grade the cover as Worn/Good at best. As you can see from the pictures it has some damage. There are tears in the front of the sleeve. Not terrible but definitely apparent. Some light ringwear. Not bad for an album plagued with ringwear. On the back of the sleeve there is some staining. There is a complete spine split that has been repaired with clear tape. Some splitting starting to happen in the top and bottom seams. Cover can still hold the record inside. The back of the sleeve does have the tanner n texas address printed in the bottom. This is what makes it a 2nd pressing. The first pressing was printed and pressed in California.


Record:

I would grade the record as POOR. There are many scratches. A few are feelable. The worst issue is that it does have some major feelable groovewear in two tracks, "You're gonna miss me" and "Through the Rhythm". The groovewear causes some SKIPPING on both tracks unfortunately. The groovewear also causes some major static like distortion on both tracks. "You're Gonna miss me" is nearly unplayable. Seems like who ever the original owner was loved that track, and played it to death with a really cheap needle. There is also a small skip on the 1st track of side 2, "Fire Engine".


Stranglely, aside from those issues the rest of album plays ok. Just some surface noise and some light crackling. Not great but sounds ok. Clean labels. Thick vinyl

Again this is a rough copy that is best for someone just looking to own this rare record and occasionally play, not so much for sound quality. Please be aware of the issues I have mentioned above. Record can still be enjoyed but it does have some major flaws.
