Description

This auction is for an ultra rare copy of the EP from cult Australian band  The Purple Hearts. The EP is called The Sound of The Purple Hearts. It was released on the (Festival) Sunshine label in 1965. Tracks are as follows:-

Side one: Of Hopes & Dreams;  Here 'Tis

Side two: I'm gonna try; Long Legged Baby.

The cover is in excellent condition. It's only flaw is a small biro triangle on the back of the cover. It is only 10mm at it's widest point. The record itself has a couple of very minor scuffs. I would rate it at VG+. The label has a small '28' written in light biro on side A.

I believe the line-up for this EP was Tony Cahill (d) Bob Dames (b) Mick Hadley (v) Barry Lyde - Lobby lloyd (g) & Fred Pickard (g) - although I may stand corrected.

This EP is unbelieveably rare, and still sounds brilliant after 40 years!!!
