Formed in the mid-sixties by seven musicians, first made their mark as The Bees then as Symarip, also supported Prince Buster on a UK tour in 1967. Soon after, the group was signed to President, changed their name to The Pyramids and found UK chart success with "Train Tour To Rainbow City". Throughout the remainder of the sixties and early seventies, the septet worked tirelessly, cutting discs under a number of aliases, most notably Symarip and Seven Letters. They moved to Germany in 1971, performing reggae and Afro-rock under the name Zubaba.  COMMENTS The Vinyl is high sheen with quite a few mark but from what I can see no deep scratches.  I come from Leicester and most of the Reggae and Ska records I come across are in pretty bad condition.  I put it down to the fact that we had blues parties back in the 50s, 60s and 70s and most of the rarer Ska and Reggae records went to these and got wrecked.  However this one seems to have survived quite well.
The Labels are in fairly good condition but because they are white, a bit dirty.
I have had it on the turntable and although it has a couple of clicks and some light crackle it still plays very well.  I would give it a playing grad of Excellent Minus. It certainly plays better than it looks.
What really make this record is the music not quite as commercial as Desmond Dekker but more of a sound you would expect to hear at a Reggae Ska party. With harmonies that hearken back to early Ska and a futuristic bass line blend together to make it just about perfect.

I've been dealing and collecting records for over 40 years and know only too well how frustrating it can be to receive a record through the post that's been over-graded.  In the UK, the accepted record grading system is the Record Collector magazine guide which can be found at the back of every issue of the mag (which is on sale monthly). This is the guide I use when selling vinyl and is reproduced below; from this you can see that EX and VG should still be totally acceptable to listen to and even Good shouldn't mean completely Bad! If Mint is what you want then a record described as Mint should be indistinguishable from brand new; the older the record, the harder it'll be to find. There are a lot less Mint records than many people would have you believe, and terms like 'minty' and 'awesome' or a string of exclamation marks don't really mean anything in terms of condition. Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:     "MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.     EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.     VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.     As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them.
