Until the release of the superb It's Alive in 1979, boots were the only place that Ramones fans could go to hear live recordings by the goofy punk pioneers. One of the many Ramones boots that surfaced in the late 1970s was At Your Birthday Party, a two-LP set that was recorded live at the Roxy Theater in West Hollywood, CA. on August 12, 1976 and at the Rocker Tavern in Aberdeen, WA. on March 5, 1977. This set came from a label calling itself Dansker Fanklubbe, which is Danish for "Danish fan club."
The Ramones' performances at both shows are excellent; in 1976 and 1977, they were very much in their prime and epitomized punk's vitality.
