Description
The Riot Squad - Gotta Be A First Time/ Bitter Sweet Love
(Pye Records 7N 17237 UK 7" Single 1967)
This is a UK original 7" single pressing. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red & black "Pye" labels which have a 4 pronged centre. It has 1st press A-1/ B-1 matrix stampers. It comes with its original "Pye" company paper sleeve.
A very rare 1967 single from The Riot Squad. This was their last UK single release. A great unsung UK Beat/ Mod band from the 1960's. This single was produced by Joe Meek. They are two great tracks. The A-side is particularly good & is a Mod Dancer track. It is, I believe, available to hear on Youtube if you are unfamiliar with the track. It is well worth checking out. I have some other rare & collectible UK original 1960's 7" Singles for sale too. This includes another single by The Riot Squad "Cry, Cry, Cry/ How It Is Done". This is also a Mod Dancer single too. So please check out my other listings.
Vinyl: This single was kept in a clear outer PVC sleeve for some period. This, over time, has reacted with vinyl & left some light, very mild or very minor dull "cloudy" surface PVC marks on some areas. These do not affect playback in any way. They can only be seen under a strong light. Otherwise, there is a very light 3 cm hairline surface rub mark on the B-side. This is not that noticeable under a strong light. There are some light, mild or very mild surface sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, a strong Very Good condition. The labels are in Very Good++ condition. There is an extremely small initial on the A-side label. This hardly notices. Otherwise, mild to more moderate spindle wear only. The company paper sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this 7" single. It plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. Overall, a very decent audio copy!
