This album has been in my collection since 1967, when I bought it new. I have limited experience in grading vinyl, but have done a fair amount of research on the subject, so will try to describe the condition of this LP as accurately and as honestly as possible, bearing in mind that the standard grading system is somewhat vague and imprecise. I have decided to sell my LP collection and all records are carefully inspected and listened to before I auction them.
The vinyl LP looks shiny & clean and there are no significant marks, both labels are clean and bright with some spindle marks and wear (see photo), but nothing serious. The record plays really well and the dynamics are good, but I played it a great deal in the early days, so it has the sort of wear you would expect. There is moderate background noise between tracks, some mild clicks and pops and a little sibilance on a couple of tracks, but nothing serious enough to spoil the listening experience. There are no loud and/or rhythmical clicks or pops and no skips or jumps. I would grade it as very good plus (VG+) to excellent (EX) condition, for it’s age.
The outer sleeve is also in VG+ condition. It is clean and bright, with no tears or splits and no ring wear. The back has some discoloration from aging, the corners have some wear and there are a couple of minor creases in the front cover laminate, but all-in-all it’s quite good. The Inner original sleeve is good, but there is some staining along one edge.
