Description

An original 1st stereo press of BB on the UK Decca label from 1968. Matrix 1K/2K. Stampers 1U/1B - you're going to struggle going earlier than that! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo Garrod & Lofthouse cover with 'patents pending' [ the very 1st design]. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve date coded to autumn '68 - one month prior to the 1st release date! So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few light marks per side,, and one superficial trail - absolutely nothing heavy and nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Well, this really is an absolute tour-de-force copy. As a good a rendition of BB as I've ever heard. Beautiful faithfully rendered audio all the way through. It's a very early copy which is certainly helping, but it has clearly been looked after too. Interference is pretty much non-existent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. So, please rest assured that this copy will deliver you an absolutely top-line rendition of this STONES classic from beginning to end. Be that in the quiet sections or in the more complex passages..just top-level through and through. No Expectations/Prodigal Son...just sound amazing on a nice early clean copy...Superb!
Cover (Ex) In great condition and it's a real treat seeing one of these original copies looking quite this SWEET. A lovely clean front cover with barely a crease. It has largely avoided the ageing process and still retains most of its whiteness. Ditto the rear..the only thing I can spot are a couple of indentations in the top-sector..nothing standout. The interior looks great - no issues at all. Edge wear is light for this title. There's hardly any wear on the spine and all text is still legible - this is very unusual. Please note the spine has not compressed either..again which is a definite plus point! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a terrific original example.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of ageing and a few creases. No splits though.
