Description

Beggars Banquet a 1st mono pressing from 1968 on the Decca label. Matrix 4A/2A. Stampers 1K/1BB. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse 'Mono' cover. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, it is 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection the surfaces are relatively unmarked apart apart from one section. There's a small patch of markings on side 1 which span tracks 1,2,3 - it's no more than two inches square. These marks are visible, but not feelable to the touch - and thankfully have no bearing on the audio due to the deep grooves of these 60's mono copies. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with prefect clarity. Only on the Mono copy do you start to really hear how great this Lp is. Transparency is top-level and you can just hear every last nuance in the mix. A beautiful player most certainly and one of the best I've auditioned. Interference is practically non-existent. Those marks mentioned above possibly cause a couple of light crackles and to be honest there's not really much more that's noticeable throughout the rest of the record. Even those quiet acoustic tracks like 'Factory Girl' play really really clean. It is just a stellar copy whichever way you look at it.
Cover (Ex+) A difficult one to find it top condition as they often suffer ageing and can look a bit beaten up - but this copy really stands out as super well preserved. Lovely shiny white front and back - just look at those shots! One or two tiny marks - that really is all. No major creasing at all. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is pretty light and the spine, so often a problem area, is very well preserved with text mostly visible despite some compression. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Ex) No splits, minimal ageing, one slight dirt mark.
