Description
A 1st pressing from 1968 on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1B/1A [super early]. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse - with 'Patents Pending'. Only the very first copies were released prior to obtaining the patents. Also included is the blue and white Decca inner.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers this is one superbly preserved record nice and shiny and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of ultra-light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with barely any interference at all. The audio quality is absolutely top draw - this is a very early 1st pressing which is perfectly preserved - it's going to surpass pretty much any other copy. Interference is very minimal - we detected nothing more than a couple of crackles [literally] in a couple of places the whole way through - that really is all.
Cover (Ex+) That iconic front cover is in really nice condition and is not suffering the usual ageing at all. Back and front really are superb with barely any creases. The spine is in excellent condition with all text fully visible. The interior is in immaculate condition and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Difficult to imagine finding a copy any better than this really...
Inner (Ex) A touch of light ageing - no splits.
