Description

An original 1st Mono press by Decca in the UK from Xmas 1966. This is GENUINE 1st press. Lots of copies out there - but only a fraction of them actually qualify as genuine 1st. Matrix 4A/1A. Look out for that DEECA deep groove - that's a sign of 1st press. If it's not there - there's no way it's 1st press. Lovely heavy-set vinyl. Early copies in a gatefold cover with photo pages attached in the interior. There's also the original Decca inner sleeve. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of small but semi-feelable marks on side 2 which do just about sound. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with only a couple of deviations on side 2. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. No kidding this copy is a total time traveller. very rarely do you get such a clean signal coming of a genuine 60s copy. Yes the user has been careless in two spots [explained below] - but in ALL other respects this copy punches way way above what the average original copy can deliver. You will witness these Stones classic hits like never before in CLEAN MONO. Man [or woman] - you can really crank this baby and keep going up to 11...and it will hold steady without wavering. Hardly any background which is very unusual. Ok, so the two issues are caused by the marks mentioned above. Thankfully the heavy-set pressing and positioning of the marks have actually lead to less issue than might have been the case. I get two clicks and a couple of ticks right at the outset of GOMCloud. In Lady Jane which otherwise plays unusually clean, I get 6 minor ticks midway [no biggy]. Personally, neither are an issue for me. The sheer quality of the audio elsewhere [consistently] far outweigh these minor issues. Love it. A classic title. Paint It Black is on here.. need I say more? I mean... if  you can't get down to the slide guitar on LRRooster...there must be something wrong with ya! For out and out audio...this might be one of the best copies I've ever given a spun [which is quite a high accolade].
Cover (Ex-) Well preserved cover and looking better than many examples [much better]. Usually this title is in poor condition - and has been battered. The outer surfaces are clean and are looking very well cared for - lightest scuffing on front at spine edge. Lovely firm uncreased firm opening panel. Photo pages are intact in the interior and have not been heavily thumbed - impressive. Minor edge wear - it is extremely tidy. Spine is 95% intact with just a touch of ageing. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Sweet!
Inners (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits! Bag present.
