Description

An original 1st UK Boxed label LIB pressed late 1969 for the Xmas market. Matrix 3W/5W. OK, so first things first how can we be sure that this is, in fact, a late-69 copy. Well, because the UNBOXED design was being phased out in the autumn. And whilst the last few unboxed labels were being utilised a new design was in the wings. And the 1st copies on the brand new "boxed design" carry a number of attributes from the original unboxed design. 1st boxed copies, like this one, use the original font width as employed on the UNBOXED design. As a result the album title is much wider than on later copies, and the catalogue number is MUCH larger than you find than on copies just a month or two later. Then look at the foot of the label..."The Decca Record Company" is found all on the one line. This is precisely what is found on UNBOXED copies. Just a month or two later the "THE" jumps up to the line above! These '69 copies are still pressed on lovely sixties heavy vinyl and are within ONE MONTH of 1st release..how's that for provenance! The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover. The early covers should have a sticker down in the left corner, pinched spine, peep-hole, and 'printed in England'. Also included is the original 'Let It Be'' blue and white bespoke inner sleeve. Note how the 'London Bach Choir' credit has not been redacted..these are the earliest copies! Why pay a fortune for the unboxed label when you can buy a better copy made the same month?..that's what I say...NO POSTER!!! Sorry...
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side, and one superficial trail - absolutely nothing troublesome or that would enter the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with two slightest deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. This is, perhaps, my favourite STONES album and you really need a clean copy to do it full justice. There are many quiet sections and any background will just distract you from this masterpiece. I'm pleased to report this is a top-level player allowing you to hear every last nuance. And the audio is to die for...Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few light static crackles in the into to 'You Got The Silver' & "Love In Vain". These are the fussiest tracks and playback is still superb - I'm just picking up on the slightest deviation to inform the buyer. A stellar performer..if you need to hear this LP like it's 1969 all over again...do seriously consider this one..
Cover (Ex) The "Let It Bleed" is a difficult cover to find in top condition, but this copy seems to have survived the years in very fine form. The cover looks lovely shiny and flat, with just a couple of thumbnail creases. That sticker is intact and secure. The rear looks great too with barely a whiff of ageing. Please note up in the top left corner there's a small neat signature. Edge wear is very slight and the openings still sharp. The spine is 100% intact and over all the cover retains excellent rigidity. Nice!
Inner (Ex-) Very little signs of ageing and no splits. Graded down as the poly bag i missed. We will ship in an another poly-line sleeve to protect it and the record.
