Description

An original 1969 copy of LIB on UK Decca. Well, we'd all like an UNBOXED1969 copy - but a decent playing UNBOXED copy will cost $$$. If you're fussy about the audio - but don't want to compromise on time-frame...look for a smart playing 1969 boxed copy [simples!]. They were pressed identically to the unboxed copies and sound absolutely fab. Matrix 3/3. Stampers 1-A/1-M [extremely good provenance.. super early]. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover from 1969. The early copies, like this example, should have had a peep hole to distinguish between mono and stereo. There's the original bespoke LIB inner - and the 'London Back Choir' credit has not been redacted [another sign of an early copy]. We will ship in a same period poly-lined Decca inner for maximum protection. Please note there is NO poster.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with two very slight deviations. Lovely quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with superb clarity. And you're really going to need it to play clean into those tricky moments... Think ... Love in Vain & Silver. These are the fussiest darn tracks on LIB. If it plays clean, as it does here, you know you're onto a winner. Lovely clean audio throughout. If you need to hear LIB in full effect - take a good look at this one. All I could make out was the odd minor crackle occasionally in 'Love In Vain'. Most copies do not play it even as clean as this example can deliver. And just a touch of very low level static momentarily in the super low-key section in the middle of 'MIDNIGHT RAMBLER'. Other than that expect - a pretty much perfect player. This bad boy is guaranteed to sound identical to a perfect UNBOXED copy. No better - no worse. Absolutely superb and great value. Prepare to be blown away! Highly recommended!
Cover (Ex) Difficult to find in top level condition like this. Many will look a bit tired by this point in time - but this example is looking very fine indeed. Lovely clean and flat front cover - no signs of ageing....just a couple of minor thumbnails and a surface level crease top left. The rear has escaped most of the usual signs of wear and ageing - it looks really smart. Edge wear is extremely limited and the openings are still firm. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) In very fine condition. Just bear in mind the inner bag has detached. Hence why we're shipping the same period generic inner. Lightest ageing. No splits!
