PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION IN FULL - FIRST!!
This is an original LIB 1969 copy on the UK Boxed Decca label. Please note that label design is consistent with the very 1st new boxed label design introduced in the autumn of 1969. The catalogue number is still in large font - and the tape number, found immediately above, is still inverted. The inverted matrix number is a unique preserve of the 60's and was not used post Xmas 1969. So, this Lp is pressed on heavy sixties vinyl and that has helped it survive some of the marks that are appearing on the surface. Also included is the original very 1st issue design cover. 1st issue were printed on heavy-card by Upton and have the peep hole on the rear and the poster sticker on the front. THERE IS NO ORIGINAL INNER. THERE IS NO POSTER...sorry...
Vinyl (Vg-/Vg+) A mixed bag for sure and won't be to everyone's taste. If you are in anyway not keen on marks - this copy is ABSOLUTELY NOT FOR YOU. If, however, you're prepared to accept a few issues in order to bag a proper '69 copy at a very low price then do read on. There are two or three semi-feelable trail marks..and these marks do affect the audio. Please read carefully...Side 1...There's a marks across Gimme Shelter and the 1st third of Love In Vain...and this causes a bit of background crackle...so only VG. The remainder of side 1 from midway in 'L.I.V.' through to the close plays real nice at VG+. Side 2 there's a couple of semi-feelable trails which each span two tracks. The first two tracks [Silver & Rambler] are **SUB-PAR** audiowise with clicking and crackle...so VG- at best..and not at all to my taste. The rest of side 2 plays, better, and is what I would term 'OK' at nearer VG with a bit of light static in places. It's a mixed bag, but in parts it plays real nice. Just remember those marks...and also take into consideration the price. Think it through properly..
Cover (Vg) Very nice for a true 1st issue cover and still retains rigidity. The front looks real nice with a couple of minor stress creases at the edges and a touch of light ageing in places. The rear is exhibiting a touch more ageing and one or two grubby spots - but overall very nice. The spine is pretty much entirely intact with all text visible. Overall a really nice proper original specimen.
