Description

An original very 1st press of NO.2 on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1A/1A -very 1st cut. Note the labels are perfectly consistent with earliest 1st press at the time of release - the Deep Groove is present. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue 'Blind man' cover. Note the 'Blind Man' text is precisely what  you should find on a genuine very 1st issue. We also have the original Decca inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback.  Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. It's a lovely little player with only minor occasional background. Expect a few crackles in, perhaps, two isolated moments per side .. [i.e. very little at all]. It's a lovely player and gets you straight in close to those original masters! And you can hear it.... the stings provided by Brian. Sweet! The lower-key numbers are nice and clean too...Not perfectly clean at all times [as I've alluded too above]. But by and large this copy is a knock-out. It would be hard to equal - let alone better. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) Wowzers...firstly, go take a look at other covers out there on-line... then come back and take a look at this one. The front is very nice and flat with only a few light creases. Typically this cover surfaces with a lot of creasing - and potentially laminate lift. Now look at the rear. Very few original No.2's have a properly unaged rear. But this example has managed it! None of that ageing that is so typical of this release. The only detrimental thing I must note is a bit of damage to that lower flip-back. It is all secure - but has previously taken a bit of wear. It doesn't really detract from the overall aesthetic - which I think you'll agree is difficult to replicate at this standard on this particular title. Edge wear is very slight for this title. The spine is 100% intact - very unusual for this original '65 title. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. One to treasure for sure...
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged and no splits.
