Description

An original 1st stereo press of OOOH's on the UK Decca label from 1965. Matrix 2W/2W. True stereo 1st pressings of this title are hard to find because stereo was still very much in its infancy in '65. Label design is consistent with 1st pressing and includes the Decca Deep Groove that would have been present. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue stereo cover printed Robert Stace with pinched spine [100% not a later cover swap]. Also included is the original mid-sixties Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A seriously impressive looking copy and has clearly only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I couldn't make out more than a couple of light marks per side. Absolutely nothing that remotely would enter the audio spectrum - period. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really very nice and quiet with audio coming across with top-level clarity. Even in those lower key tracks just clean output. This has to be the cleanest 1st stereo I've witnessed - it's a winner all the way through. At worst a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. An absolute corker..
Cover (Vg+) A very respectable looking copy and well above what usually surfaces. Lovely clean looking front without the dreaded laminate lift and only a couple of minor creases in a couple of spots. The rear is looking very nice too with just some light ageing, as is almost compulsory with this title, and a touch of surface wear in a couple of spots. All the text on the spine is still legible and there's only a couple of stress creases in a couple of spots. Overall the cover still retains really good rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing and no splits.
