Description
A 1st UK export press of OOOH's on the Decca label from Xmas 1965. This release was specifically designed to take advantage of the massive success of 'I can't get no satisfaction' from summer 1965. The export copies were usually destined for homes in Sweden and this one is no exception the rear has the original owners address stamped on it in Stockholm/Sweden. Matrix 2A/2A. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover with its original Decca inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Vg+) Has seen quite a bit of use, but thankfully playback seems to be largely unaffected. Now, please be aware there are a number of light marks on each side, and one or two of these are starting to get feelable. So, you must understand that this copy, at first sight, doesn't look that promising. But I am pleased to report that because these Decca records were pressed so heavy it remains relatively unaffected. The audio comes across with good clarity and only light interference in places. Yes, we detected a few light ticks in one of the end tracks, but other than that there was surprisingly little to complain about. This is a superb cut of Stones early material and actually plays very well indeed. It is also a low-cost entry route to what can often end up being quite an expensive purchase in top-level condition.
Cover (Vg) A lot of these covers turn up absolutely wrecked, but this one has survived the years well. Ok, so there's a bit of ageing apparent and the laminate is starting to come off in places, but the rear is still in pretty decent condition. There's one small tear at the opening which has been repaired. The spine is totally intact and the cover still retains a degree of rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of ageing, but no seam splits.
