Description
Unless specifically stated, all records I sell are from my own collection & not just bought to sell. This is no exception,The Rolling Stones & Out of Our Heads, on Decca Records, from 1965. This version is the original UK Mono 1st pressing on the red Decca FFRR label.
Deadwax runout grooves read as follows. Side 1. ARL-6973-8B Side 2. ARL-6974-11A
Please note I always play my records through so I can grade them properly.
The outer cover has a laminated front, which is generally in great shape, there are no splits in the laminate, it has no rips, tears, writing, sticker marks, just some small creases due to normal handling over the years. The spine is intact & easily read. The back side is a little grubby around the edges as it is just plain card, but again commensurate with it's age. I have resisted the temptation to try & clean it in case of making it worse. Again, as per the front, there are no rips tears or writing. I grade the cover as VG+.
Both labels are clean, there are a few spindle marks & the record has obviously been played a few times. Visually the record still has a nice deep shine, but on close inspection the record does have a few scuffs & scratches, mainly the 1st two tracks on side 1 & tracks 2,3 &4 on side 2, but in playback these cannot be heard at all & the needle tracks through perfectly. Don't forget a mono cartridge moves in the horizontal only. The record plays perfectly all through, with no skips or jumps, loud pops or clicks. The sound quality is still exceptional, & has great drive & energy. In my opinion a proper mono cartridge is essential for hearing the record as it is meant to be, in fact I have one turntable permanently set up for mono recording, it makes such a difference. Even background noise between tracks is minimal, though of course not totally absent. In light of the visible marks on the vinyl I am going to grade it as VG, but it plays more like Ex.
I have always kept my records clean, but before I sell them I always clean them with my VPI RCM & put the record in a new anti-static inner sleeve, & the cover in a new cover also.
I always insure my items for their full value & do not make any money on postage & packing.
