The Rolling Stones – The Rolling Stones No. 2. Decca LK4605. Mono. 1964 2nd Press.
The sleeve (VG) is laminated on the front and bears a boxed Decca sign. There are some minor creases to the laminate but it is still sound. The spine with the artist and title etc is fine. No heavy wear to the other edges The back of the sleeve is unlaminated and very slightly faded. It does have 4 small pen ticks against 4 of the 12 tracks and has had a label removed at the bottom centre with a small blue mark next to it (see my photos). Very slight ring wear to the mostly clean back and a very light crease to the back. Many would describe the sleeve as VG+ but I prefer to undergrade really.
The Labels on the disc have silver lettering on a red background and are clear and clean. There is relatively light spindle wear.
Play-Testing. This has been tested on top of the range Naim Amps and Audio Concept deck with Kef Foundry Reference speakers which show any faults. There are varying degrees of surface noise on both sides especially between the tracks. I do not think they distract the listener too much when music is playing and it was a good Mono sound with good, clear vocals and instruments. There were no jumps or mistracking and the disc is not warped. I rate this as a VG test play but it certainly looks a VG+ for its age and many will think it plays like that on lower spec. equipment.
For a 1969 LP this is quite a good copy in my opinion.
