Description
The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. Members are Mick Jagger (lead vocals), Keith Richards (guitar), Charlie Watts (Drums), and Ronnie Wood (guitar). The band are identified with the youthful and rebellious counter culture of the 1960's. They were instrumental in making blues a major part of rock and roll. The band is named after "Rollin' Stone", a Muddy Waters song. "Some Girls" is their sixteenth American studio album released in 1978, and reached #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. It was a major critical success during an interesting period, with Punk Rock in the UK and Disco in NYC going on at the same time. The elaborate die-cut album cover was designed by Peter Corriston. The original cover had celebrities Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minelli, Raquel Welch, and Marilyn Monroe. After a treat of legal action for the use of their likeness without permission, a reissue replaced the celebrities along with the phrase: "Pardon our appearance - cover under re-construction". Only one celebrity face remained, George Harrison from The Beatles. The original uncensored celebrity album cover is in excellent condition. The limited ORANGE vinyl is in excellent condition.
