Condition:

Vinyl visual condition: VG/VG+, quite a few light marks but plenty of original sheen too.

Audio condition: VG+, these Decca monos are very well produced thick vinyl pressings. There is a bit of noise though, but be your own judge and listen to the sample below, I'll bet you get into the music straight away. Bear in mind this is a thin soundfile you are listening too, the real analogue experience on your turntable is sooo much better. You might hear the surface of the record occasionally but in the background. 

The track I chose to record is 2,000 Light Years From Home (recorded today from the record for sale). I chose this one because it has a  quiet and loud passages, so you can properly hear if the condition fits your needs.

Labels: VG+, see photos, some spindle hole wear

Sleeve: VG+, laminated gatefold original, some laminate crease but not too bad. No rips, side splits or nasty damage. Small pen mark (see photo above)

Inner sleeve: VG+

Extras: I have cleaned the record on a Loricraft PR4 and, in addition to the original inner sleeve, there is a new antistatic sleeve included in the sale. The record and cover are separated for posting (to avoid side splits), inside a 250g plastic sleeve.

I am not one of those dealers who claims everything is Mint minus and then proceeds lists all the problems with the record. I prefer to err on the side of caution and under grade records to avoid dissappointment. I have collected records since 1991 and have had plenty of run ins with amatuer short-term dealers who overgrade. I am not one of those.

And you think I am wrong ... just send it back for a refund.

Record Collector Grading System

mint (m) the record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. the cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.

excellent (ex) the record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. the cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

very good (vg) the record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

good (g) the record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. the cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
