Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting LPs in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. Here is a real 1969 copy of the second Big Hits collection - some made in 1969 have unboxed Decca labels, some have boxed version.. These octagonal covers are fragile, but this one is very good.

Cover - is gatefold, pouch type, octagonal, laminated on the outside. This is very good - a few creases to the lamination, and an old bend to the bottom part. Edges are very good, minor wear to right-hand side two corners. Spine is not torn at all (one sometimes sees copies of this that are in pieces). Back cover is very good, again with a couple of creases in the lamination. These creases aren't damage, it's just not a very good job of lamination. The unique octagonal inner is included, in excellent condition.

Record - A very nice-looking record. Playing surfaces - Side 2 looks excellent. First side has a fingernail mark starting on track one, crossing track 2 and going into track 3 - also a scratch along the grooves on track 2. I have play-tested first part of side one, to see if the flaws are audible. Jumpin' Jack Flash plays very well - a few very background crackles (just audible, playing it loud on my posh deck). On Mother's Little Helper I heard just 2 light clicks. After that comes 2000 Light Years. One does hear several crackles per rotation in the gap between tracks, and then on into the track, which has a quiet "washy" intro, but problem goes away once they get up to full volume. More crackles in later quiet passages. The next two tracks play just fine. We Love You  has crackles in the quiet intro, excellent after that. The general audio quality is absolutely excellent on this stereo record - I've heard little details on this that I hadn't noticed before on the singles or other albums (and I'm a bit of a Stones buff).

I have been collecting records for 50 years (when finances allowed!), and now it's time to sell-up. I bought them mostly around local shops (second-hand), but sometimes from e-bay, and sometimes new, for my favourite bands.

When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.

I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad.

Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.

They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.

This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices. Combined postage may or may not be possible through the Program - if e-bay shows combined postage for their courier job, I'll do combined postage for the transit inside UK. I can't see information about this until you pay.

International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.
