Description

An original 1st stereo press of TTPD on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1W/2W. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original hexagonal gatefold cover with exposed internal flipbacks. Also included is the original hexagonal inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In  very nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Under close inspection I could make out a few light marks per side, and one semi-feelable one right at the end of the record. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is mostly minor and infrequent. A solid and enjoyable listen - it isn't going to make the top grades as it's not clean enough. By and large a decent player, but expect a few crackles in each track, and the occasional couple of ticks. Nothing invasive - it's mostly relatively minor. There's a deviation in the final two seconds of Honky Tonk, as the audio fades, one mark causes a couple of pops [best place for it I guess!]. Overall a decent player and a true 1st issue from 1969 at an agreeable price..
Cover (Vg+) Nice and clean with just some light laminate bubbling in place. The interior looks great - no issues. Edge wear is relatively minor and the spine, unusually, is pretty much totally intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Ex) No splits or marks.
