Description
A 1st Mono pressing of 'Through The Past Darkly' on the Decca label from 1969. Matrix 1A/3A. Stampers 1A/1A - which means it's actually from within the first few thousand copies pressed. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original hexagonal gatefold cover. Please note 1st issue covers have the flipbacks exposed in the interior. Also included is the original hexagonal red and white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a number of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It's not really hard to understand why the collector goes for the 'mono' version...in my opinion it's a total no-brainer..not even close! Interference is very minor. All we detected was a few crackles momentarily in a couple of isolated spots. Even those paired down acoustic numbers are clean. What better way is there to hear these Stones Classics...?
Cover (Ex+) In beautiful condition and ones quite this 'crisp' looking do not surface very often. Front and back are perfectly preserved. I am struggling to make out a single crease front or back! That opening page is perfectly stiff - there is absolutely no curl or creasing at all. Edge wear is very light. The interior is pretty much perfect with no ageing or damage to flipbacks. And if that weren't good enough for you the spine is 100% perfectly intact...and believe me this is super difficult to find. Overall the cover still retains perfect rigidity all the way through and lies perfectly flat.
Inner (Ex) No issues and no splits. And no ageing.
