Description

The Sea Urchins' "Pristine Christine" 7" single (catalog SARAH 001 on Sarah Records) is the very first release on the iconic Sarah Records label, issued in November 1987 (some sources specify 14 November).

It's a 3-track 45 RPM EP/single: side A has the shimmering, jangly title track "Pristine Christine" (~3:10–3:30), backed with "Sullen Eyes" and "Everglades" on side B. Classic Sarah indie pop / jangle pop / twee sound—bright, chiming guitars, wistful melodies, and dreamy, innocent vocals from James Roberts.

Highly regarded as a perfect label launch and an early gem of the C86/Sarah scene, it's now a sought-after collectible among fans of pristine, melancholic British indie pop from the late '80s.
