Description
This auction is for the vinyl album "Meat is Murder" from The Smiths, that is pictured and described here. I don't know exact details, but I believe it is an early pressing (could be first edition, but I don't know how to tell).
The cover, sleeve, and vinyl album all show wear, and I tried to highlight the issues in the photos. The record itself might be in pretty good shape, but definitely has a couple of scratches visible on Side 2 - though I haven't had a turntable for a couple decades, so I can't tell if they affect the playback or not. The cover and sleeve have a bit of wrinkling/warping as though they may have been wet at some point in the past, and both have a bit of staining at bottom left (worse on the sleeve). The sleeve has a bit of separation at the bottom that allows the album to poke through (see photo). I started to buy the vinyl after building a collection of CDs, so I viewed the vinyl albums more as a collectible than as a music source, and I honestly don't think I ever played the album after purchasing it.
The album has an inscription on each side near the center label - please see photos for details: - Side 1: FEAR OF MANCHESTER - Side 2: THEM WAS ROTTEN DAYS
I don't know if those are typical of all versions/pressings or not, but seemed interesting to me.
