Description

The original incarnation of Perth's finest, The Scientists released a 45 and a 7" ep during their time together. Kim Salmon split them up and began plotting his next move when a fan approached him with the idea of the band refornming in the studio to lay down what was essentially their live songlist minus covers as a momento for their fans. Kim Salmon agreed reuniting with drummer James Baker and bassplayer Ian Sharples for the recording sessions. The album was pressed by EMI Custom pressing and issued without a record label in very small numbers. It was later re-issued in the 80s or 90s as the reputation of the second incarnation of The Scientists grew. This is a brilliant album of punky pop and almost impossible to find. It is with very heavy heart (as a long standing Scientists obsessive) that I list my copy but I need to raise some cash for myself and my beautiful teenage daughter to visit my ageing Ma in New Zealand. You will in all probability never come across another copy of this gem and almost certainly you won't come across a copy that is in such great condition.

These records come from my personal collection. They have all been extremely well cared for over the years since I bought them (but they do not come from a pet or smoke free environment). Circumstances have forced my hand & I will be listing a number of my treasured records, ranging from punk to psych/prog to soul to folk to blues and everything inbetween, over the coming months. If you like this record there is a good chance others I am selling may tickle your fancy, so please feel free to have a look. It may have been some time since some of these records have been played so they may be in need of a thorough clean before playing. I hope they find their way into the hands of people who will love them as much as I have over the years. Thanks for looking & good luck should you decide to bid.

Side One: 1) Shadows Of The Night 2) Girl 3) I'm Looking For You 4) She Said She Loves Me 5) Sorry, Sorry, Sorry 6) That Girl 7) High Noon. Side Two : 1) Teenage Dreamer 2) Another Sunday 3) Walk The Plank 4) Larry 5) Making A Scene 6) It'll Never Happen Again.

EMI Custom Records: HAVE-1. Australian pressing. Record is graded as EX- & it's cover is graded as VG++ with some ringwear, slight edgewear and with name written inside record entry slit.

We use the UK Record Collector grading system and we grade conservatively. We will only use a mint grading for a record we know to have been unplayed.  (M) Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. (EX) Excellent: The record shows slight signs of having been played but there is no lessening in sound quality and the cover and packaging are as new. (VG) Very Good: The record has obviously been played quite a few times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. A slight amount of wear and tear on the cover and extra items is acceptable. (G) Good: The record still produces a reasonable, playable sound but has obviously been played a lot. Although showing wear and tear, neither the record or cover/extra items display major defects. (F) Fair: Sound quality has deteriorated markedly. The cover/extra items display folding, scuffing, marks etc.

Please note that this record has been graded visually only.

Any glare in the photos is from my lack of photographic skills only.

Records are posted twice weekly and generally will be sent within two working days of payment arriving. Records are packaged extremely carefully (we are after all record collectors ourselves) using both cardboard and bubblewrap. We guarantee the condition of the records and their covers/inserts etc are accurately described and that any photos used are of the actual record/cover/insert for sale. We cannot however guarantee the safety of your purchase once it is in the hands of the postal services. For this reason registered post for is offered and recommended to all buyers. Should you require these services please specify this when making payment. Australia Post has now introduced Registered Post for parcels overseas. It comes at a cost of $5.00 and comes with $100.00 postal insurance. Registered Post for buyers from Brazil, Italy, Russia & Mexico is compulsory. This is due to records we have posted to these destinations in the past never arriving.

Postage: Australia:  $8.50 for the first LP or $11.20 by registered post and $2.00 for each additional LP. New Zealand: $12.50 - 1 LP, $15.50 - 2 LPs, $18.00 3 LPs. Double LPs count as two & 12" & 10" singles and eps count as LPs.  Please note that the increase in our overseas postal charges is due to Australia Post yet again increasing their charges.

Please understand that we live in a small country town and mail often takes a little longer to reach it's destination than that sent from a major city.
