Description
The Shirelles 1961 Tonight's The Night 12" Album 33 RPM (S-501). This one's not to bad sounds good but not for serious collectors, it has some finish scuffs looks like maybe fingernails, the spindle, and rubbed from the outer cover (not over the whole record just in spots) but I did find a very small scratch or nick I felt with my thumbnail maybe from the needle (side one track 3 with no skip just a light pop if any more I did not feel any also a smudge spot), my opinion if you have one of the better spin cleaner it may clear up some of the finish scuffs, the smudge spot and pops, no skips that I could hear, clean and glossy. The album cover is good top 5" edge split with 3/4" clear tape over the whole edge, the bottom edge had a small split so I clear taped the whole edge to stop the splitting, fading with a glossy front. The inner sleeve has fading with clear tape over the edges and a creased bottom right corner. This recorder will make a good player if this is what you are looking for.
I will not use the grading system I see most people using with code letters to describe their records I do not believe a record with scratches should be called VG or VG+, I will use my own description and I will list scratches and scuffs, a scratch is a mark that I can feel with my thumbnail, a finish scuff is a mark that scuffs up the gloss finish from a record going in and out of the records cover without an inner sleeve, fingernails, the record rubbing the turntable spindle and the needle sliding across the record but not deep to be called a scratch as in most used records there will be some kind of a mark.
