Description
Westwood One's extensive radio documentary special,
originally broadcast in May and June of 1987. Concerning
the BBC rock music programming from the 1960's and
hosted by Andy Peebles. With a few exceptions, complete
performances of songs are represented, along with interview
segments from the original transmissions and a few newly
recorded reflections from the artists.
These are not the album versions of these songs. The artists
performed these versions specifically for the BBC. Many
of these versions have ended up on BBC compilations of a
particular band's appearances , ie: Beatles at The Beeb,
The Who at The BBC, The Kinks at The BBC, The Yardbirds
at The BBC, etc.
Part 1 consists of 7 records / 14 sides covering basically 1963-1966.
Part 2 consists of 8 records / 16 sides covering 1967 - 1969
Both sets have commercials and local break grooves.
(Part two's label states "Diet Coke presents" ! )
Both sets include their cue sheets with segment times and a
reference sheet with all songs listed, even those used as intros
and promotional medleys. The cue sheets were marked off by
the dj at the time of broadcast. On the song reference pages, I
marked the pertinent sides in pencil for easier location.

Total programming time for both sets totaled is 12 hours.
55-57 minutes per hour actual time, excluding local break times.
The records came in individual plastic inner sleeves, no outer
coves, but will be packed carefully with extra support between
every few discs. We know they were played for broadcast and
we have played them twice since owning them. All the records
are sonically sound and I grade them as EX condition.
That said, I wish to point out that like most radio shows,
they were not manufactured from the highest grade vinyl.
They are an amazing collection of UK radio history.
