The Slits: Cut LP, Vinyl, Island 1979
The Slits were a British punk and post-punk band formed in London in 1976 by members of the groups the Flowers of Romance and the Castrators. The group's early line-up consisted of Ari Up (Ariane Forster) and Palmolive (a.k.a. Paloma Romero, who played briefly with Spizzenergi and later left to join the Raincoats), with Viv Albertine and Tessa Pollitt replacing founding members Kate Korus and Suzy Gutsy.
Cut is the debut studio album by English punk band The Slits, released on 7th September 1979. The songs on this album offer an amalgam of punk's abrasive DIY WTF-ness and the spacious relaxed rhythms of dub reggae. This album is a keystone for any and all punk-based grrrl movements, it is terribly, terribly important in the history of the rock music. Funny thing is, for all its import, Cut is actually a lot of fun.
This is the original Island release from 1979, ILPS 9573 (i), complete with the original carton picture sleeve, drawn by band members.

This record has been kept in storage in a smoke free household. It is from a large record collection, not a DJ collection, this record has never been DJed and is in good condition.
On Side 1, at the straight of the 2nd track, 'So Tough' there are a few crackles. During the 3rd track, 'Spend, Spend, Spend' there is the odd crackle. Then between tracks 4 & 5, there is a small pop and a crackle.
Flip over to Side 2, there are some crackles at the start of 'Newtown', the 1st track. During the 2nd track, 'Ping Pong Affair' there a several crackles. There is a crackle towards the end of the 5th track, 'Adventures Close To Home'.
There is some foxing to the record sleeve, from being in storage. Also the carton picture sleeve shows some signs of wear and tear, from age and being in storage. For example there are splits in two of the edges (see pictures).
