The album's 13 tracks were produced as well as mixed by Nigel Godrich and finally mastered by Bob Ludwig. The songs are accompanied by strings from the London Contemporary Orchestra and a full horn section of contemporary British jazz musicians including Byron Wallen, Theon and Nathaniel Cross, Chelsea Carmichael, Robert Stillman and Jason Yarde. The band, consisting of Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead and Tom Skinner of Sons of Kemet, has already released the singles "You Will Never Work in Television Again," "The Smoke" and "Skrting On The Surface." "The Smoke" was also released as a dub remix by legendary reggae producer Dennis Bovell. The Smile's latest single "Pana-vision" was previously released on April 3 and featured in the finale of the BBC series "Peaky Blinders." The animated video for Pana-vision features artwork by Radiohead artist Stanley Donwood as well as Thom Yorke. The brand new single "Free In The Knowledge" is released today alongside the album announcement. The video for the song was directed by Leo Leigh. The song was first performed by Thom Yorke in December 2021 at the "Letters Live" event at London's Royal Albert Hall - Thom Yorke's first performance since the pandemic began. When performing the song, he dedicated it to all fellow British musicians.
