Description

This is a genuine early UK pressing of The Smiths’ self‑titled debut album, released on Rough Trade in 1984.
This edition features the desirable A2/B2 runout etchings, confirming it as an early analogue pressing from the original production era. It also includes the classic cursive Rough Trade logo labels (as pictured), a particularly sought detail out on first‑run copies.
This album is an essential cornerstone of The Smiths’ catalogue, featuring key tracks such as Reel Around the Fountain, What Difference Does It Make?, Still Ill, and Hand in Glove — all presented here with the rich, full character of an early UK Rough Trade cut.
Condition:
• Vinyl: Superb overall, clean and well‑preserved
• Side B has two small hairline scratches (as pictured) — purely cosmetic and do not affect play
• Sleeve: Excellent condition with strong colour, minor wear to one edge
• Inner sleeve: Clean and original, possible tea stain(?) to one side
• Labels clean and bright, no marks or spindle wear
This is a high‑quality collector’s copy of one of the most important UK indie albums of the 1980s, with the authenticity and sound signature of an early Rough Trade pressing.
Format: 1x12" LP – Black Vinyl
Fast dispatch, within 1 working day. Always in a protective outer sleeve and vinyl mailer.
